Questions about Trucking Schools in California.

What are some reputable training schools in California? How long is the training and what type of training do they give you? How much is the cost, and does it make any difference if you pass your written test before going to the school?

Are there any companies in California that trains you, and you just have to work for them for a certain period to get it paid off? What big companies train people under 21 years old? I know CR England trains their drivers, but do they train you if your under 21?

Even though I cannot drive interstate, can I still get trained by someone who does drive interstate? This could increase my chances of learning while being on the road for 3 months, instead of 2 weeks at the school. Will the company do this even though I'm 19?

 

I have my personal reasons as to why I want to become a trucker. One of them being is that my mom is a Certified Nurse Assistant, yet for the past 10 years she has only made minimum of $9 a hour. She works hard, she has hardly ever taken a vacation. Her boss takes vacations every other month.

As an only child of my mother, I want to provide for my 60 year old mother, not get more educations while she still works as a slave. I can get more education when I'm older and have taken care of my responsibilities as a son.

Lets get back on the topic at hand.

 

Everyone has to start some where. As I gain more experience, the more money I will make. No one expects to make any money in any job field, especially young as I am. From my understanding, it's much better then what my mom has been paid for the past 10 years.

And as far as not being able to see my mom that much, well that will depend on if I would go interstate or not when the time comes. My cousin has only been a trucker for almost 2 years he makes good money and is home every night. It all depends on the company that you work for. If I can make more then $500 a week local and be home every night, I will never complain about that.
