Yep, noted. Sometimes I forget about who could be watching....

I'm a work hard, play hard kinda guy! Mostly lately it's been all work and no play. I'm working for my grandfather at the moment doing odd jobs.

    Nope, no three ways...

Well, today was a good day! We drove around Dallas in the 8 speed truck. I did better today.

Not much to report other than that, except that we had a lady from Werner Enterprises come talk to us. She is actually a current driver in their "elite program" whatever that call it. It was actually nice to talk to a current driver, than some recruiter.

It seemed like Werner is treating her well and I think I will take a very hard look at them. Anybody have any input on Werner?

I'm going to go read the Werner threads here on TTR.

Don't open that can of Weren't Worms!!! Anyway, you have to start somewhere and I don't care what people say, it often a what you make of it scenario. If you chose a mega carrier, keep your nose clean and move on when it is right.

Yep I agree. I'm just trying to get through the first year and then I'll re-evaluate my situation.

21 in June, but I'm trying to apply to many companies so when I turn 21 I can sign on with them quickly!

Well today didn't start off very well. I got in the truck and started driving and for some reason I just became completely scared of all the traffic going on around me (yeah, I'm not to "macho" to admit that I was scared!). I had to stop and let another student drive.

I don't know what happened! I'd never had anything like that happen before... I've even been shot at (when I worked for a security company) and never felt the fear I felt today.

Made me kind of second guess this whole driving thing. I don't want to cause an accident or kill someone else or myself.

I've driven all kinds of vehicles in my life (on and off roads), but this is kinda kicking my butt right now!

After we got back to the school, I had calmed down a little bit and we practiced backing which went really well! I've come to like it even.

We have been training on the roads without a trailer this week, but tomorrow we are back to having the trailer and I'm kinda dreading it right now to be honest with ya.

I got hired with ABF for the dock workers position!!! Orientation is next Wednesday!

Also, I'm getting in to my final days of CDL school with my test on Tuesday although they may push it back a little. I am ready for the backing part, and airbrake test. I hope that these last few days will give me the road practice I need to pass my testing.
