I live in north central Massachusetts. Ashburnham, to be exact. I need help finding trucking companies nearby that train to hire, as I can NOT afford to get my CDL A on my own. :(

My half-brother (recently found :) ) is a trucker that I am bouncing questions off of, but being that he lives 3 timezones away, timing is an issue, so I am asking here as well.

He suggested Schneider National, but they do not train to hire for my zip code. Hunts is my next check. But is it Hunts or J B Hunt?

Unless truckers are willing to start a donation to help a new guy pay his way. (Kidding!)

Edit: Hunts does not train to hire. Sad.

Try this one: Earl Henderson Trucking Company

If you have an original birth certificate and original social security card that's not laminated, then you'll probably be in orientation Monday morning. Transportation to their school, hotel room, 3 meals a day provided.

Take a sleeping bag and pillow; you will need these when you hit the road with your trainer.

    Best wishes.

There's other choices with their own CDL school, but Earl Henderson is the quickest.

Truck stop meals are expensive. Prepare for this so you can eat before you're first paycheck. Take some instant foods for microwave such as Ramen Noodles, oatmeal, coffee, tea bags. Take as much as you can and pack it in a flexible duffle bag, not a hard suitcase. It's difficult to store a suitcase in a truck.
    Also take:
    flashlight
work gloves-cheap ones from Walmart/Home Depot, etc.
Some companies require steel toed boots and some companies don't. If so, get some cheap slipon ones. This way if you're in muddy situation, it's easy to slip the boots off before entering the truck cab.

Yes, and I checked to make sure he's in the hiring area before posting those companies.
