My 730 is currently in transit back to my house (had it sent in for charging/white screen issues). I used to love RM. When i first started driving i ran my co-driver/trainer's 720, no problems. And the first few months i loved my 730.
These days i am more hesitant to defend RM.

It is not uncommon to put updates out together as a batch.
I find it hard to believe it was in and out of the shop in the first 30 days for 25 updates.
The freeze issue is fixed, but awaiting the QA testing before being released to the Dock.
What roads did it route you on that were dead ends?

The dead end road was the road next to my house, the one way was a street downtown and Forrest and john street were too tight for cars, let alone a semi..... and the town I had to go thru in south Carolina was somewhere around Greenwood. Directions (in a nutshell) were 26 to Clifton, 72 to greenwood and 52 bypass. After an awkward u-turn I found the correct route but was initially thrown off when I followed about 4 or 5 other trucks just go strait on thru. I didn't want a ticket so I turned around in a family dollar parking lot. That was where I spoke to a lady about directions back to the right route. Then once I did get where I needed to be, it Kept routing me to Kateway and that was also a no truck route. I needed Emerald. (Had to circle town to get to the other side to access correct street. Does the same for Lebanon (34) in Danville ky too.
As for "25 of them".... The devise was at rand McNally for 25 out of the 29 days I had it.
I figured with the products RM had been successful with, all the great reviews I had heard, read etc that the 730 would be the best of everything.....I was wrong with the one I received. I've talked to another driver that has never had an issue with his though.... I purchased the 520(?) And should get that tomorrow. Of the GPS devices I've used (garmin, TomTom even Waze and Truckerpath) I was hoping that since RM has been around for trucks so long that I would be instantly satisfied. My own fault really, I'm an engineer by degree, I knew better. -
Mark Kling should have his signature line changed to Chief Damage Control Officer.
I'll give you credit Mark you hang in there through all these posts of locked up units. -
The RM just isn't a dependable GPS. It's got some seriously awesome things that, if it were a better crafted piece of equipment, would be worth it's weight in gold. And I know Mark's gonna give me crap for saying that. But I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I would love to own a Rand McNally navigation system. I did own one. Actually, two. And that's it. I have more respect for money than to throw it away on something that will break down before 10,000 miles are put on it.

I have no idea where you live, could you narrow it down to one of the 49 states and city, along with the road? You can PM me on this.
"One way" - again no idea from your information as to where.
"Forrest and John Street" - again no idea what state/city.
I cannot duplicate or research with vague information.. It is like your dispatcher telling you to deliver to x street on Thursday.... no state/city or which Thursday.
34.287636, -82.046923 is where SC 72 meets US221. I do not see a 52 bypass around Greenwood.
Thanks,
Mark
