I thought as of January 2015 you no longer had to carry your medical card. That is the whole reason why you have to give copy to your states license office.
-
Yes, but how difficult is it to stuff that little piece of paper into your wallet?
And once there, how could you possibly lose it without losing the whole thing.
And how is the DMV having a copied card any more valid than a paper?
In MN they didn't want the long form, only the little card.
If I forged the card on paper and gave it to them to scan, how is it any different than showing the forgery to a LEO? Do they check back with every card scanned with every doctor that issued it?
Heck, show me a long form and I could forge it in any way you want, then print it out with any ink jet printer to look just as original as the original.
All it takes is a decent scanner and printer.wore out Thanks this. -
That was the plan then the reality of the fact that 50 states have 50 ways to screw this up, you still have to carry your card.White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this.

What they did was legal. Showing that to an LEO however may not fly. I would print it out so it can be kept handy.

Actually, the medical examiner electronically sends the state of MN a version of your health card. It tells them expiration and any waivers you are using. At least that is the way it was explained to me by the last two places I got mine. Why you then have to submit the card yourself is beyond me but this is government we are talking about.

Keep in mind, anything you keep on your phone and are willing to show a LEO by handing over your phone, you just granted access to at their discretion to view. I would never, and will never store anything of personal, or important value, on my phone. The implications, ramifications and risks are far too great even with the best of intent, there are too many entities in the world trying to glean every bit of information imaginable from electronic devices.
EZ Money Thanks this. -
Well I can say for sure that embedding the card on the license will never happen. Point in case, me! My physical is only good for six months because I am a former heart patient and have to have an EKG forwarded to the state medical examiner every six months to re-certify and a stress test every year, so replacing the license every six months would never work. And even if I were 21 again, I would only get a 2-year medical card with a 4-year license...

How did you lose your medical card? Mine is bigger than moses's stone tablets, probably could use it as a floatation device. LOL
