I have a flat screen going with a regular plug in inverter. They use barely anything at all.
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

I'm not aware of any 2 hours of 10 inverter policy. You can buy theirs and they'll take it out of your check in payments, or you can provide your own if you ok it first to make sure it's a decent brand. I only run a cig lighter one for my laptop, but plan on getting a bigger one. I also run a 12v fridge and 12v cooker though, so I just set the opti-idle to kick on for the batteries. Same situation as a larger inverter or bunk heater, you'd be setting the idle so as not to kill your battery. (Almost learned this the hard way... >.> ) I might mention with summer back, you'd be running the opti-idle for the a/c anyway...
Been a hard running 2 weeks, AL-AZ-ID-MN-WI-AL. Just back in AL today after a 670 mile day. Am out of hours so will sit tomorrow after delivering in Birmingham... Then finally a load home to Tampa for a couple days, hopefully . -

Yeah, the official line and what really aren't necessarily the same. I didn't tell you that
-
Well that's what it was like back when I first worked here, but it wasn't easy to ask for a regular inverter.
-
I asked about the inverter last month when i switched trucks and was given the policy. The deal is they dont want to kill the batteries and make sure they're installed properly. I went ahead and had the 10/2 inverter installed. Really i just use it for running a microwave. Everything else i have runs on a 300w (150 when using 12v plug) plug in. No problems at all. Watching a movie right now. Popped popcorn with the micro. Doing pretty good right now. Deliver in the a.m. BTW i live in Florida also. Crystal River.

Just received a pre hire from Wolding. Even though I won't have my CDL until July I have been talking to them for a while now. I sent them my school info (ptec) and my MER with DOT card this morning, and 5 hours later got the prehire email. Besides the road, skills, and drug test... What else would be a condition of employment? I'm guessing they already pulled my mvr and background? I guess the next step is get my cdl and then set up orientation. Hopefully everything goes as I plan... So far it has.
-
I paved the way, after my good example they'll hire anyone from ptec
jk... Congrats! They'll pull mvr, and they'll do more skills and road test at orientation. And another drug test and physical. You should know grad date so if they'll let you, go ahead and set up orientation date, I'd say.

Went through out processing last week and took off on my first trip back on Friday. They gave me a 2014 Cascadia condo that was a trainers truck who moved into a new one. They're only buying condos now and I heard they plan on recycling their fleet once every few years (~500k miles per truck) instead of waiting for over a million miles like they did with the Columbias.
The three guys I went through processing with were just getting done with their trainers. They were each given a Columbia but there were a few newer guys coming through who had started in 2012-13 cascadia mid-roofs. It's just a matter of time before everyone is in a Cascadia
I was also matched back with my original dispatcher which is really cool. I asked her to keep me out on the road for a couple months and was promptly given a three part pre plan. From the yard to Arkansas, there to Alabama, and then to Arizona. I'm sitting outside OKC now and have exactly 2000 miles since Friday afternoon. I'll easily round 3k for the pay period before having to reset.
