Well, on a lighter note. Mark sent me a couple of Micro SD chips to fix my 720. I have no access to robust land broadband out on the road, so
he sent them to me. I will post updates on functionality of the new software and maps from the road. I'm on home time now.
I'm sure there will bugs along the way, But Mark went above and beyond on this one.
I'm sticking with RM while they shake out the coding bugs.

My 720 is back to life and fully functional. I can't wait to test it further in the field. I will be running it side by side with the Company Copilot rig, as
CoPilot has the fuel stops and routing automatically loaded for each assignment. It will be interesting to compare the two routing algos. RM, of course,
is superior in it's user functions, being more of a consumer product. CoPilot is a stripped down Fleet program, I would assume.
Thanx again, Mark and good luck shaking the bugs out.Last edited: Apr 15, 2015
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
i wouldn't say copilot is stripped down. it just don't come with all the fancy features. but who needs em when apps are free.

With so many states banning the use of cell phones, if you have one in your hand looking at an app, you could stand the chance of getting a ticket.

At least you can get yours to work..... I finally sent my 720 back since the nav. errors were every time I turned the device on. Opted for the 530 and the routes were the same weird round abouts for either loaded or empty and I really cant figure a way to route it onto certain state routes. (I.E. Peace Bridge in Buffalo NY down rt 5/20 then back onto 90south just before Dunkirk NY... so commanded by my all powerful and (not) all knowing computer generated route that "uploaded" to my equally confusing in-cab naggigator.) Once I hit 20/5 and the 530 finally quit telling me to reroute, it failed to warn me of a 12'11" overpass. Fortunately I saw the signs, called law enforcement to back me up enough to be guided to the I-90s, bobs your uncle and on my way I went..... Its kind of irritating to have to route every single road via satellite photos, google earth street views, but 'dems da breaks....

What is your start/stop locations and what route did you wish it to take you on?

the RM is great to tell me that there are sharp turns ahead, curvy roads and even rollover hazards but This is the low clearance overpass that the 530 did not warn me about.
My company does not like paying the tolls so the route they wanted me to take was North of I-90. (Rt 5/20). Although the co-pilot was to get me to the approx. area then customer directions kick in that routed me to I-90 followed by their front door, none of those directions came thru at the intersection 90 minutes east of Dunkirk. (I presumed that approx. location was not within a 150 mile radius..... guess I do learn something new everyday). As a result I overshot the entrance to I-90 then met this.

Although I like the idea of GPS, they are by NO MEANS the cure to the directionally challenged, like myself, so I'll just continue to lose sleep mapping every road. Better that than wedged under it. -
Your attachment did not come thru. If you are on Google Maps, find the location, right click, what's here, and at the top left is the Lat/Long.
Thanks,
Mark -
This was a pic I took while waiting for one of the local yocal..... I'll try again. The overpass is the entrance road to the I-90 toll booths on state route 20Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Go to Google Maps, find the location, right click, what's here, upper left is the Lat/Long. I looked at the ramps and did not see the overpass. But SR 20 crosses I-90 and does have several entrances quite a few times.
Thanks,
Mark
