This topic was first brought up last fall (2014) on another thread, which also has a copy of the actual contract posted in it on this page:

You think $3,000/75,000 miles is bad. We just had Averitt come and talk to our school and they make you work for them for a year or pay back $7,000

Let me ask you guys a serious question. If you think it's going to be that bad there where you can't stay a mere 6 months, why are you even going???
Jumbo, Hammer166 and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
Very good question.
I think some are worried about the part where they can get fired and still be on the hook for the money.
My 1st load solo after my trainer with roehl I put a brand new 2012 prostar sleeper against a power pole at my house. They didn't fire me, gave me and older truck and sent me to Wisconsin for close quarters training.
I've kept my record clean ever since thoughlucasheart and joseph1135 Thank this. -
You're not seeing the full picture. The contract is one sided. The contract states the driver will owe the debt if terminated with, or without cause. The risk to the driver is unlimited and the driver is at the mercy of the carrier.

Then don't work there.DrtyDiesel and Jumbo Thank this.
