I was behind a new trailer from Canada that said 'warning disk brakes stops 30% sooner' on the back. Is this new technology? Has anyone else seen or drivin one of these?

I've seen. Never pulled one. I do want one on next unit.
zoekatya Thanks this. -
Yeah I like that "30% sooner" sing that's so the four wheeler's think its OK the cut off the trucks. Cuz they can stop on a dime.

Been around for a while AIR PRODUCTS have used them since mid 1980's just not that popular because of the cost

Some of our trucks have disc brakes. I don't notice a difference.

nice going down the sisters and not thinking about overheating

he was told only drum brakes until OCT he saild I'll waitzoekatya Thanks this. -
My tractor has disc brakes. All our 2012 and up Volvos have them. I assume the KW T680's do too.
zoekatya Thanks this. -
I heard dot will require them. You can't rebuild the unit. We were told in a safety meeting they cost about 2000 a unit. Don't know If I buy that, my company exaggerates often about the cost.

The new Pacar's were supposed to start using them on the front axle as standard equipment.
Trailers and drives are all coming eventually.
They had big issues with the reliability the first time they tried to roll them out in the US. Now it is just the initial cost of the units.
They are in full use in Europe, and are having great success. Also, service is much easyer. Since to change pads you don't have to take everything apart.
Also for inspecting, the driver no longer has to worry about it like the drum systems. Easy check, and non adjustable.
They will not fade on hills like the drum brakes. So there will be a big reduction in brake overheat and crashes on mountains. Since as they heat up the brakes just hit harder.
I am looking forward to them in the future, can you tell? lol
