What is the quietest truck on the market today?

The quietest truck is the one that isn't running......😜

 

Just goggle sound deadening for your model truck.
for 700. or so you will get all the material you need. Then you get to take every interior piece of your truck apart and put it back together. Any truck body shop can do this. Way cheaper than new truck

 

I would say a Kenworth T-700. When it's at the shop, not a peep!

 

Quietest I've driven is a Volvo VNL 6?? or 780 , Loudest by default "not because of aftermarket crap" Was a Freight Shaker with no side skirts , as stock as they come , I couldn't hear people on the phone with a bluetooth on or my cb without adding a 20 watt powered external speaker... Now I have driven a pete with a busted manifold and when the jake went on it was louder then any race track I've been to or shuttle launch I've watched in Florida... just saying

 

Not much insulation in a Freightliner. I've talked to a local Freightliner salesman about this. They did offer a better insulation package but it cost more so most used ones don't have it. The big companies that buy lots of new trucks want to get by as cheap as possible so they don't order it.

I had an ex Maverick truck once. Great on fuel mileage. Noisy inside and hot in the summer. I took down the cover above the cab area and NO insulation in the ceiling at all. With the dark color and no insulation no wonder it was hot.

There is only a very thin insulation if any in the floor as well. The Peterbilts I have owned had more insulation and the Western Star I now have has a lot more. Thick floor insulation and overhead.

You could put more insulation in the one you have. Thick floor covering. Some in the doors and in the overhead as well as the firewall.

That would help the outside noise but not all the rattles and squeeks.

 

Figure out how to put some noise insulation in the fire wall area, hood and floor. That seems to be the big problem right there.

 

I know you guys in the USA don't get these but they stripped these down, rewired, double insulated and
Supposing got rid of all rattles and squeaks. Made it a better ride etc etc.
I havnt driven one of these le models but if they have succeeded in taking all the probs away it will be a great truck

Those new trucks are really quiet, especially when they're behind a tow truck.
