California Vons and Ralphs drivers

Welcome to the twilight zone world of TTR. This is where long days for low wages and weeks away from home is a badge of honor. Speeding is a virtue and tickets are worn on your chest like medals.

Like you I drive in Socal and get paid hourly, overtime after 8 and double time after 12. The way I see it is that every mile I go above 55 is money out of my pocket. Most folks here have no clue what it's like to go from point A to point B doing the speed limit and taking your time. The stress limit doesn't even blip on the chart. Just like Vons our average drivers have been with the company for 20+ years and retire afterwards, not quit.

For those young drivers out there that are looking for a company to drive for here's a suggestion. The next time you look for a driving job, ask the potential employer how long the average drivers have been with the company. If the answer is 20 years then I suggest you quickly sign on the dotted line if offered. As far as I'm concerned that's the only question that matters because the answer to that one question speaks volumes about a company.

Is this info accurate for Ralphs? I'm looking to switch jobs to stay for good. But these numbers for Ralphs are 30k-35k less then what i'm averaging now. Thanks.

When I worked for sysco I loved to drive slow in socal. Was union, ot after 8. The slower I drove, the more ot I got!

 

shoot i would love to land ajob at agrocery chain tired of wasting my time with a dead end job was actually trying justnow but the internet gives me a run around . can u direct me to the right site to apply for say vons or staters

 

what do you expect when the tractors are governed at 55mph? ....we get paid by the hour so not only is it safe but that's why we make 100k plus a year plus free insurance and a pension

Union dues are $100 bucks a month and your a TEAMSTER ....meaning the only way you can get fired is if you fire yourself

I mean you sign up to take $25 bucks a week that you don't even notice because your making $2500-3000 a week and over 100k per year.

My anniversary is coming up (hire date) and they pay you your vacation up front ....this year's it's gonna be $4000 ....
