that one is a little unique. the little truckstop is a dump too. I ended up sick with the flu when I showed up there one time and the ### running the truckstop refused to sell me a whole box of dayquill tablets would only sell them by the individual packet at a huge markup.
then I checked in at the gate 20 minutes early and ended up 8th in line at the receiving desk still on time. the girl could see me standing there clearly before my appointment time but was 2 minutes past by the time I got to the window. she put a big red LATE stamp on my bills. argued with her about it and she said if I had a problem with it I could just leave.
I hope before the day I die I see malwart taken down a notch or two by someone. somewhere.

I have an even more jaded view of them than most because in a previous life I spent 7 years working for them as a training supervisor at then DC6015 in laurens, sc. think they renumbered them and it's 6815 now. I know firsthand how screwed up they are and their views and disdain on the world outside of malwart. granted when I worked there was years ago. I started when mr sam was still alive. it was a different company then but i was also there when he died and saw the immediate change in their corporate culture and and attitude towards their customers and vendors as his kids fought each other tooth and nail for control. it literally changed overnight. we treated drivers like valued assets and partners when sam was alive but not after he died. I only do deliveries there now because I have no choice as a company driver. thankfully we have a lot less of them at my current company than I did my previous one.
new Albany, ms is a bad one for the behind the window conversations lol get there in the middle of one of those you may wait 30 minutes before they realize you're there and they have a job to do.
i'll still go across town to shop anywhere other than malwart even all these years later.Numb Thanks this. -
Someone told me somewhere that the $50 they collect for unloading goes toward their fundraising account. Just something I heard, don't know that to be true. But so that I don't hijack my own thread, I guess there aren't any options other than the truck stops at Ozark if the gravel lot by Hardees is full. -
No clue where your next load is coming from?

For what it's worth... When I got to the Hardee's today around noon trucks were jammed into that gravel drive like a box of McDonald's fries. Went on to Ozark where the new kangaroo truck stop is open across from the new Loves and I thought I'd give it a shot. Most of their parking is 1hr, overnight parking is a quarter mile from the store, and they don't accept my fuel card. Said goodbye to kangaroo and found plenty of parking at loves.
I guess backtracking a half hour isn't bad. Could be a lot worse. -
I remember when they first got into groceries, they were the best place to deliver to, nothing like the other grocery warehouses. No lumper fees, in and out, friendly. I went to pulling tanks for a decade, and I was in shock when I went back to one of their DC's for the first time. They made Associated Grocers seem like a dream receiver!
