RLI is giving me the run around. Gave me the number for Koch claims dept. When a trucking company has a specific dept just for claims.. I cant help but wonder how long this will get dragged out.

So I called my insurance... Progressive. They charge me through the nose.. but I had a pleasant experience on the phone. Said to let them know as soon as I get home and they will send an adjuster out to look at my truck.

Another member here emailed me the form to send in for down time compensation. Said I can only charge my NET. I hope they go by the last 4 weeks... they can take as long as they need to fix my truck.

Heading to Jersey and already have a load to Fla.

I'll update with more as soon as I have something worth posting.

Nope they might want this years numbers so far or the a years total.
Be carefull going home . They might want to argue with you driving the trk. saying the damage was not that bad then..

FYI, Progressive doesn't aggressively pursue the other party to get your deductible back. Going on 2 yrs now, I'm still waiting for my $1k deductible. I got hit in the truck stop parking lot and let Progressive deal with it because I didn't want the hassle. About every 6 mos I get a letter from Progressive letting me know that they haven't collected yet and that they are sending J Bauer another letter...what a joke. I should of at least tried dealing with their ins co myself. I will say that the repair process with Progressive was excellent.

Sucks that your insurance will go up. Does anyone ever try to recover that cost? It's legitimate, they destroyed your truck but since you filed a claim you are now expensive to insure. I don't know how one would put a number on that but it seems to me the people who cause accidents always get away cheap and easy. I went thru this year's ago in an accident where I was not at fault. Destroyed my hood, it's never been right since even though my insurance paid KW over $10,000 to fix the damages. I too only got net wages which I suppose is fair but it was what they said my net was not what I penciled it out to be. You're never going to recover what these things truly cost you is what it seems like. Even though insurance will cover most damages...

Not to rain on an already crappy parade ....

You may not not get paid for the painting of your hood. The insurance adjuster will introduce you to the concept of betterment I.e. They will not pay to fix pre existing damage like dents or bad paint. Just giving you a heads up as it is another battle to fight.

I was hit in a truckstop last August and am still fighting to recover my 5k deductible and 8k downtime. This is with a police report witness and ticket issued

So he had a two tone paint job. The hood had paint on it before the accident and should afterwards. I doubt they will say put a new hood on it and leave it as is.

The commercial agent I spoke with said that Koch admitted fault to her on the phone. Said if I have any problem or dont get any results from them by Weds,.. (I'll be home and empty on Mon) to call her back and she will send out an adjuster and make sure my truck is taken care of. She also said Progressive will pay for my down time as well. No penalty to my insurance rate. Its deemed a not at fault accident.

The proof is in the pudding so to speak,.. hopefully if Koch doesnt step up to the plate and my insurance steps up, my rate doesnt get dinged because of what their driver did. Hopefully alls well that ends well.

Sounding better. Keep us posted. I'd love to know how it pans out.

I'm really sorry if I held anyone up at the fuel island today, I saw a Koch driver in the back parking lot, and just panicked.
