How to solve all the problems a strike will not

As much as Id hate for anyone to be out of a job, I do not sympathise with these guys/gals hauling this cheap freight. I just dont see why anyone would haul something at a loss. Why? The good part is, this crisis we're in will weed out those who arent educated enough to run their business and will hopefully bring rates up.

This type of thinking will not get you the gubbermint welfare that many are seeking !!!

This " NOT HAULING CHEAP FREIGHT " nonsense will only bring you and your family prosperity.

I think this is an inappropiate thought process !!!! You should go broke like others who are protesting, or you are not a true truck driver !!!

Wanting prosperity for your family....... That is vulgar !!!!

You better watch out what you say in here, some of the cry babies who are idiots who call themselves o/o's but really have no business beinga o/o will tell you that "you don't know crap" "things will change" etc. etc. etc. etc.

I myself have not been a O/O for very long and like you I don't say I know it all, but i can figure out how to make money with the fuel high and rates low. I also refuse to haul things for less than what my 'operating cost" is, not matter what. And like you I also belive there is no such thing as a backhaul, we get paid for whatever is on the trailer for wherever it goes, even if it goes back the same direction as you came. I don't care if you get paid $20 a mile going somewhere, don't take a load for less than your cost per mile back. I am not afraid to say no to freight either, its amazing how fast a broker will call back when you say "no" to the cheap freight and they offer you the money you want. I am finally glad more and more people are starting to tell them the "reality" of trucking and that they are just to stupid to figure out how to make it out there. Bottom line striking is stupid and won't change anything. I could care less if fuel is $10 a gallon as long as I am getting paid to cover it. The faster we don't haul the cheap freight the faster the rates will go up.

I say let them that want to haul freight for a buck a mile. Haul it !!

Give em all the freight they can stand.... 10-20K miles a month. It'll only take about 4-6 months, before they've lost everything. And THEN, there will be no more cheap freight.

Cuz there will be no more CHEAP drivers. They'll be broke, homeless, and driving for a company. Some will be paying child support, after their wife leaves them too. So they just won't catch a break...anywhere.

That is true too, I don't have a clue how anyone could possbily make a profit of pay their expenses at $1 a mile.
