Lol got ya. I Live in Detroit. I've actually picked up some engines from the plant a few times. I'll give it a try, thanks!

Update: A06-47470-000 is an OEM part AND it's called a vehicle interface harness (not an engine harness like I was originally told). Both the EH (engine harness) and VIH plug into the ecm. Detroit Diesel doesn't have their own separate part number for the vih. However, for the engine harness it's 23536241. There's also an injector harness which plugs into that as well (which is separate). I can easily find DD's harness on ebay, but it looks as if I'll have to get the oem (vih) one from the dealer. The markup is HUGE (~$600) considering that it probably costs $50 for them to make it. ....I wish I could make one, or find someone who can make one. All I would need is a blueprint lol

Is this part # 23536241 is equal to the a06-47470-000 ?

Cost a a fraction if it's the same from eBay

No, it's not Exiled. 23536241 is the engine harness which plugs into the left side of the ecm. a06-47470-000 is the vehicle interface harness, plugs into the ecm right side, and is only OEM, which means you'll have to get it from a dealer or some other outlet - the markup for a new vih harness seems to be about the same wherever you go.

There are places that can rebuild the harness for less than $600 I think, but that might more hassle than it's worth since I don't imagine you'll save much.

The cheapest solution is probably to simply find the short/damage and repair it yourself. Download the ecm manual and it should tell you what gauge wire to use and all that jazz. Good luck! :)
