I saw a post from a man that said he was paid a salary. Is this for real or some scam. Miles go up, miles go down, kind of like the wife's hormones. Maybe consistence would be good. Any carriers you know that pay a salary?

There is strings attached to receiving salary. You have to be available for load if you refuse then you get mileage pay for that week.K&B Transportation pays salary and guess most the time it works to the drivers advantage.

I receive a salary (plus a monthly bonus) mon-friday, more times than not I'm home everyday. IF we have to leave on Sunday or get home Saturday, we are compensated. Any work done to company equipment is paid by the hour. Took me 6 years OTR to find this job. He'll have to fire me, retire me or kill me before I leave.

Moral of the story...salaried jobs are out there.

I'm on salary. I work 40-45 hrs a week avg. Multi stop usually 250-350 miles a day. Home daily, works pretty well for me.

I get salary at K&B. Pretty good deal. $1200/week for 11 out/ 3 off. About $1400/week if I stay out. Comes to about $25/hr.
It's such a relief to not worry about miles anymore. 7 hours at WalMart is just a long and welcome break. Local jobs can pay that well but then it's city driving - a trade off - I like the open road.

yeah yeah.... Next we'll all hear you crying on YouTube because you took a load knowing you'd be tired, and crying about your mean ol' dispatcher......lol

I'm kidding. I'm glad it's working for you. I would have liked to not worry about detention and layover back when I hauled reefer.

My dispatcher now is a complete tool, and never gets me moving... Oh wait, I'm self dispatched.....

I have read many pages of your experience becoming an O/O. I appreciate the detail and will read more.
I am pretty comfortable where I'm at but unless I do something like you are doing, I think this is about as good as it will get for me.

    I'll stay on the clock....
M thru F, OT after 40, with optional Saturdays
.... I would go salary if the price was right but I don't see that happening and I'm not going to hold my breath on it

I make a weekly salary and I think its great. No pressure. All the stress is on my boss. If he can't find the loads its on him. If the truck breaks down, its on him. If I sit waiting, its on him.
I do have some motivation, we also get a little pay per mile but I don't really figure that into my pay..
