Looking for advice on purchase of first truck purchase.

I'm currently looking at a Volvo VNL630 2007 10 speed manual truck with a Volvo engine with 791,000 miles on it for $36,000.

Does anyone have any advice of this model of Volvo? Trying to stay clear of 2008-2010 year trucks due to documented problems they have had over the years.

    Any help would be appreciated.

that's a little high on the price. I bought my 2009 780 with I shift for 36k and it had a 2 year 250k warranty on all major parts and 1 year 100k on dpf and related parts only had to replace a few sensors its been a real good truck

Way too expensive. Maybe 25k.. Also depends what work has been done to it already. Like new clutch, transmission rebuilt, etc. if it's in good mechanical condition, wouldn't spend more than 30k

Nicely done, after I had posted the question I noticed it only had a 90 day warranty. Not feeling too comfortable with that. Also wasn't sure about the milage. If I can find a I shift for 36k I'll be happy lol. Plus the warranties? That would be a very comfortable spot to be in

yes I think it's a little high as well with newer trucks selling for less or about the same with more going for them. I'm not sold on it with those miles. I may have to look harder to find a newer truck with documented and easy to get maintenance records plus warranties and lower miles.

ya the warranty is what made me buy that one and it was a o/o truck with a lot of proof of parts replaced and you could tell he took care of it

Looks like I may have to go that route. I'm thinking it's not wise to get my very first truck and not have a warranty protecting from major issues and parts. I'll keep looking. I'm sure one is out there for me.

Warranty company will fight for every dollar they have to spend on repairs. Plus deductibles. Better buy a truck with factory warranty, or buy one for 15k pre egr and spend another 15 on it. Oh, and get a 670, I drive 630 right now, it is too small

I seen the interior. At the time when I was looking into it I didn't mind. I'm only 5'5. Lol

I found a 2006 and a 2007 freightliner century. 1 is a 10 speed and the other is a automatic. I have to find out the miles on each though. Any advice?
