i know we have drivers who live in ohio but i dont know of any who participate on this site....

we run in ohio a lot so hometime should not be an issue....

miles are easy....i run 12 days on and off 2 and get 5k average for this period

i find this is the best way to run more consistent miles....

i know dispatch goes out of their way to get drivers home

Well, latest load had me delivering tomorrow in Knoxville Tn so I decided to cut my 4 week notice short down to 2 weeks and make this load my last one with Crete.

Moved up orientation to Monday the 4th and I am ready to get this ball rolling..I'm not one to give detailed miles / trips on my journeys but I will pop in now and then with my thoughts...I will give a full review at my 1 year mark and see how close to my earlier salary prediction I was.

One chapter ends and another begins....

I take it you will be turning your truck in to Lenoir City? Make sure it is spotless before you turn it in. If it is close enough, they will make you spit shine it there. If you are too far from spit shine perfect, they will just charge you to have it cleaned. I worked on my truck for 3 days, making sure everything was flawless. Polished wheels too. Even stopped at the Beacon there in Knoxville and got it washed on my way to the yard. There were two little places about the size of a quarter that had a faded dirt look on the floor. He went in and got some cleaner and a rag and made get every bit of it up. Then turned around and told me that is wasn't really clean enough, but they would let me slide. I know how to detail a vehicle, I use to do it for extra money back in my lowrider days. The entire truck was glowing it was so clean. That truck did not even look half that good when I got it.

Congratulations! Glad to see you are getting away from Creap, I mean Crete. Good luck on your journey with Big G!!

Truck is turned in and I am away from the clutches of Crete. While truck was being inspected I asked Terry "so how long until they have cameras in all the trucks", his response was one I was expecting "not much longer", the last message that was sent about the cameras said full implementation by September..full implementation as I understood it meant ALL trucks not the 10-15% they were saying. Sleep apnea testing in house and cameras in trucks are why I left.
Funny thing this morning at my delivery another driver was there after me, I was in the process of getting my stuff together and he wanted to chat, told em that today was my last day and the reason why I was leaving..He brought up something I have not heard of at Crete so don't know the truth to it but he says they are giving some kind of bracelet that monitors heart rate / other functions to drivers (what it is and what it does I don't know) but this company seems to be trying to play doctor with drivers.

I spent almost 5 years there and since the sleep apnea testing and camera in truck crap I had already planned my departure...they have there requirements I have mine, and at this time we aren't an effective team (Oblivion)

When I turned in my truck at the Lenoir City terminal it was spotless. When "Terry" inspected it he told me it wasn't clean enough.
He gave me a few rags and some cleaning stuff and said to clean it better or he would charge me for cleaning it. I went out and
sat in the sleeper berth for 15 minutes and did not touch anything inside the truck. When he inspected it again he said it was ok.
The guy is a punk on a power trip. I did make decent money working for Crete/Shaffer but the company treats it's drivers like they
are low intelligence morons. The company used to be one of the best but went down hill after that accident in Florida that all those
children where killed in. Every time I went through that terminal I was treated like a potential criminal or a moron. When you went to
the shop to get your truck worked on they made you sign a piece of paper with a bunch of do and dont's on it. Such as no bottles of
urine or used needles to be left in the truck, and a bunch more crap like that. It was insulting the way they treat their drivers. Cameras
and bio-moniters to check your pulse sounds about right for this company. Most of their shops I went through where a joke.

Hey guys, does Big G hire new drivers or do they still require 1 Yr OTR? Also, what is their starting pay(cpm, accesorial, etc.)?
