Ok, Let's say you work for a company that pay's pretty good for an inspection. While your on the scale, you holler at the officers and ask them politely for an inspection.![]()

Never have but I would if my company paid for a passed inspection.
-
another safe way.
Drop your trailer at a near by truckstop. Bobtail into scale. Walk in and request an inspection.
Make sure logs are in good shape. Truck was pretripped. That's getting a level one on your terms not theirs.T Wad Thanks this. -
We get $30 for clean level 2 and $50 for a clean level 1. The answer is HELL NO! They can keep the money for the potential hold up.

I once saw and talked to two Western Express drivers trying to get inspected in Pennsylvania...scale was closed but there were officers inside. Seems as if they did it alot.

That's like the kid in school that reminded the teacher to give homework.
Are you nuts? -
Let us know how you make out. You might be on to something here.
I can already picture the long line of drivers at the coup saying "No, I was here first, PLEASE give me a level one, a level two won't do."bottomdumpin, T Wad and mnmover Thank this. -
Remember the days when running a legal and safe truck was something to be proud of and not some scheme to extort money from the company?
MikeeeeDna Mach, bottomdumpin and Streamer Thank this. -
I did this as a temp driver but not for inspection pay, a company that had poorly maintained trucks. After writing these vehicles up a few times and refusing to drive them I flagged a Texas DPS weights and measures truck to my car and asked him if he had time to check a truck I was being offered. He did it and shut the truck down, key thing was I was not driving it and this was before csa anyway.
I was blacklisted from that company and by my manager at the temp agency for this. My manager was fired soon after for similar actions after a few reports of this, and the trucking company changed repair cycles too. All in all I did a good deed, these were Ryder rental leased vehicles parked at a Ryder repair facility, there was 0 reason for this. -
An extra 500 a week just on nspections might look suspicious
tucker Thanks this.
