Look around at other outfits first before you pick one. Swift, etc.
Find out all that you can, If you go to their school how long do you have to drive for them. Go to the truck stops and talk to other drivers. You live in North Texas....You may also want to look at Lisa Motor lines. They will school you in Ft. Worth. Like I said look around, ask questions...Ask yourself do you want to do this. IMO I would avoid Swift and Warner.

Find a school that is certified by The Professional Truck Driver Institute then check their Better Business Bureau report. Avoid schools that work closely with "bottom feeder" companies that claim they will sponsor your tuition if you work for them for a year. These companies have a very low pay scale and do not give you the miles they say they will. Then when you have to quit because you're not making enough money to feed your family, you have to pay the exorbitant tuition cost to the driving school because you signed a contract saying you'd work for PAM, or one of those types of companies, for a year. You would be much better off attending one of the many community colleges with classes accredited by the PTDI or a real driving school such as Sage.

    Northstarfire0693,
Thanks for that, I called the 800 number on there web site and set up the interview, thanks again for the no BS advice, they look like a pretty good place to get started, far better than Pam or Swift, and it is right down the road in Fort Worth
