So you knew that you were over twice the weight, even empty, yet you still drove on the road?
Your only defense is to show that what you were driving was not over 10k.
All it would take is a legal scale ticket of your empty truck, but I doubt you could provide that.
Correct?
Take your lumps, and learn from the experience. -
well sirstealth,it appears that your stealth mode has gone awry.
-
All he has to do is look at the GWVR. No need to scale you.
-
Just pay the ticket and move on. Don't waste the court's time unless you want them to add court costs to it.
-
Do you own the truck?
-
How much was the ticket?

not true at all. my registered weight is 96k lbs and can legally drive on 80k lb or less roads.Ken Worth Thanks this.

They put up "5 Ton Limit" signs to essentially allow the lawn care and such people who may have a 1-ton dually and trailer access to the neighborhood or area ... but anything else has a target on it's back. Not sure how they deal with the household goods movers or trucks delivering to construction sites who need access to a home/lot down that particular road.

It was only $50 but it's not the money I care about I don't want it on my driving record or the insurance surcharge.
