Yep, good luck on quitting smoking.

I actually have a two week plan that will help you quit smoking. Here is a quick outline of my program. I will ride with you for two weeks and every time you reach for your cigarettes I punch you in the face. Medical studies show that you form a new habit after two to three weeks. It's a real bargain since I will charge you only around $10,000 for the North bound load I would miss and you will have all the future savings being smoke free. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_25514:

I had a friend who replaced his pack of cigarettes with a small bible...

every time he would reach for his smokes and grabbed the bible he made himself read a verse out of it....

he was a city bus driver in columbus at the time....

you may remember him....the guy who drove a bus into the river while under the influence of religion...

Joe, this sounds crazy but it worked for me. I tried to quit for years. Everytime I didnt have a smoke I would say screw it and go buy a pack. Then I noticed once I had them in hand the desire died. So when the urge started I would rip up that cancer stick a little bit at a time and toss it out the window. Have not smoked in 10 years. About 3 months after quitting you will notice a huge difference in breathing.

I love to smoke. Don't get me wrong. But it's time. I'm not getting any younger and I'm taking my health by the horns and kicking it straight in the ###.

    yep....

i always said i was not afraid of dying...just not like that....

felt like i had a plastic bag around my head and no air was coming in even though i was breathing...

    very scary..

    vikingswen Thanks this.

Good for you. I watched my mother die of emphysema, a horribly debilitating disease. My last memory of her is her sitting by a window in her bathroom, nasal cannula attached to a very large O2 tank, and a cigarette in her mouth. The fact that she could have killed me, herself, her husband, and
probably destroyed a city block if the oxygen ignited wasn't as important to her as her addiction.
