I think I ran over a "flora" yesterday! It might have been a fauna. I hope that post was written "tounge in cheek"

Nick,
1.Driving a truck is stressful?Maybe when you first start but like any other jobs, once you learn it,you start to enjoy it.Enjoyment doesn't equal stress.
2.Sophisticated profession? No.It's called truck driver.Let's keep it simple.
3.Opens doors to new jobs and good money?Depends on what you haul, where your place of business is and experience. You start at the bottom, like any other job,and work your way up.
3.Far from family?I run local now so I'm not far.I have friends that run regional and OTR.My father was in the military. My mother knew what she was getting into, same with truckers spouses and family. Most drivers today can have instant contact with family members via cellphone or computer. You can also do it the old way and just leave some contact info with your family to contact the company and in turn contact you.
4.Yes we do see a lot flora(plant life)while driving but I have run over quite a bit of fauna(animal life)while driving. It's called road kill.
Quite smoking the flora and remember when you post we are not truck divers as you posted,it's truck driver. -
isn't a truck diver like a pearl diver? Hyperventilate, grab a big rock and sink...um.. like a stone. Once on the bottom, whip out the knife and ravage those poor oysters.
It's only the really *special* ones that turn out trucks... though there's some success to artificially 'seeding' trucks in special truckster beds.
Flora and Fauna were... aunts, weren't they, in one of those asinine Disney movies.
Yeah - I agree, probably ESL, and waaaay thin on each side of the quandry. Gotta agree with Gas Hauler (where were you when I had really bad gas the other day, driver?) The thought is a good one - but it needs more work.
or is he talking about Tuck Drivers - you know, those guys who put pleats and darts in various articles of clothing..
Whichway - in a car, it's road kill. in a truck, it's dinner.cpassey Thanks this. -
I think Nick was hittin the CRACK PIPE a little hard that day or maybe he just needs a better education.

It kinda seems he may have stumbled on the forum - read a few threads and decided he was now a PRO trucker. Then tell everyone how it is...............

I admit to doing some plagiarism in my college days. At least I spelled the words I was copying correctly though.

I was a VERY niave new driver. I remember when I was in TX at a mom and pop truck stop and got my first whiff of truck stop parking lot perfume. I was so stupid I just could not figure out why it smelt so of urine. Then I saw another driver pulling a cattle hauler. DUH. Still stunk, but I really woke up to the reality of what the life of a driver is about. BTW, this was in summer of 2000 and TX was in a heat wave. NICE
I did love meeting folks though. Some good, some bad. Still liked it though -
Well, I didn't see the part about the hot girls in every town, the sophisticated intellectual conversations, the luxury showers, and evenings lounging around when you're tired.
Gosh all Golly. -
Thanks for such clear and precise statement on the issue of choosing between a truck ran school and a not company truck school

i think its pretty obvious this is just a spam advertisement......its his 2nd post, im sure we will never hear from him again
