This "driver" was helpful enough to interrupt me as I was checking out thru security at JBS Hyrum. He was very concerned that he had not seen me put my lock on the trailer. So concerned that he threatened to call the company if he didn't see me lock it. In over 20 years of trucking, I've never had a driver do something like this...
I assured him that I knew my job and he would be better served focusing on his job.
He made an ### if himself in front of security staff and left a great impression of Prime with the customer.

    bzinger and 123456 Thank this.

Do you work for Prime? If not then he needs to mind his own business. If customer requires a lock then guess its up to the guard you're talking with to verify that. I would have told him to go ahead and call otherwise mind your own business and leave me do my job. Whats with people nowadays jumping into everyone's business.I may understand if it was for the public's safety but come on

ALL loads require a lock. A seal is just a seal it is NOT a lock. An empty trailer requires a lock. If you have an issue with it we can discuss it with any Prime Inc staff you want, security, fleet managers, safety , Robert... ANYONE.

All loads require locks. It does not matter what kind of seal you put on. A seal is just a seal, a numerically controlled device to show tampering with the load. Even the bolt seals are easy to break. Little plastic seals can be yanked off by hand. A BIG ultra case hardened shackle lock us what is REQUIRED by Prime for both safety and security reasons. I even lock empty trailers.... "Lock empty tralers???" Yes I lock empties for a specific reason... Truckstops are a haven for load piracy and people who are just up to no good... Here's a big picture, you're stopped for the night. A truckstop bum sees that you have a cheap plastic seal on the trailer. He yanks the seal and owing to the fact that you don't have a lock on he opens the doors. He looks in and can't see because it's dark. He climbs in and discovers that you have a load of foodstuffs. He takes a couple of cases of product and while he tries climbing back out he fall out of the back of the trailer and breaks his hip. We all know that because of certain level personal injury attourneys he could sue not just prime but you the driver for damages.

Ok now I've had my rant but before I leave this I will also say this. If I see ANY Prime trailers with seals and no locks. I WILL call it in to PRIME security.

I would have told you to lock the trailer too. If I saw you on the road with a sealed trailer with no lock I would have called prime security on it.
