so, get the same truck I had about 3 weeks ago. AT that time it was 16,000 miles OVERDUE for ti's 25,000 mile preventative maintenance check (yeah, i know, bahahaha, but at least it's an oil change). So I wrote it up.

    Guess what?
    it's now 23,000 miles overdue.

    what a joke.
and no, i didn't write it up this time, what's the point?

    Shaggy Thanks this.

Seems to me like this is sort of a CYA thing. One outfit I worked for, ignored my write ups for a tach that didn't work. I was off one day and another driver was driving my truck. He happened to get inspected and put OOS for the violation.
I come back to work and the supervisor starts jumping MY #### about not writing it up. I went to the file cabinet and pulled my write ups & stuck them under his nose. Of course then he jumped me about driving the truck without a tach...
    Sometimes you just can't win...

CYA is the name of the game. Take a picture with your smart phone and upload it onto your personal computer. Copy is made.
I Due this regularly slip seating with very whiny folks always fingering pointing others.

Petty crap i write up for 2 straight days and let it go a bit, (Seat doesn't air up) don't drive with the seat up anyway, lost my gloves in the cab tried to air up the seat to look underneath, doesn't work.
few months now not fixed, write it up every monday for CYA lol

Glad i dont have to deal with that stuff anymore, at my shop if its broke it dont move. Told the boss once hey so and so's truck needs to go in for a brake check, i drove it from one end of the building to the other and they feel soft. His respose, "unload it, ill call a hook." Not quite that simple but you get the jist

Big Don and Shaggy Thank this.

That's also the good thing about slip seating. Sometimes just get accustomed to 1 tractor for several weeks and gradually don't notice the brakes need adjusted, That oh crap moment pulling that 1 off heavy load and crap ain't right, Okay brakes need adjusted.

Nice to have another person that hasn't been in that tractor for several weeks notice the tractor and not the trailer needs attention

EDIT: Former employer questioned several times why written up brakes needs adjusted every third working day. Because of Multiple stops with heavy roll off dumpsters thats why.

It goes both ways, dang if you do, dang if you dont
