Trying to figure some options here. Mechanic told me my motor was shot, it was a Volvo so glad to get it out. He talked me in putting another motor in there. So found a used motor and I ask him how many days on the swap, he said three days so I said go for it. So a week goes by. Check on truck not ready. Heck to make a real long story short. He still has my truck tore down in his shop and 6 months have gone by now. 50 million reasons why it aint ready too many to even begin. Ive tried to call some attorneys. I guess I aint found the right one. Pissed off don't even begin to explain how I feel. It was my only source of income. I have had to go to work for somebody else just to make my truck payments and insurance.

Any helpful advice sure would be nice. Thx in advance

Dam it boy. Sorry to hear that. So you bought and delivered the mechanic a used motor? And it was the same engine/year/level it was replacing? And he's had it 6 months???

I'd have been in jail by now for murder, or maybe I'd have called Sal Tessio to have the mechanic's attitude adjusted a little.

First, hire a tow truck to get YOUR truck and YOUR new engine to another shop. Then hire an attorney to recoup lost revenue. I fail to see why an attorney would be reluctant to take you on as a client. Is there more to this story that we are not hearing?

Cant find an attorney that knows anything about the situation. He had some hard luck stories, I believed. My bad. Now I see he has just been screwing me. Well seen that about 3 months ago now that I look back. My wife called him 4 weeks ago checking on it, I wasn't aware till that night when I got home. She told me he said he could have it ready in 2 weeks if she would send him $1500 and that she didn't have to tell me if she didn't want to. I told her ######## he trying to rip us off of 1500. She told him the next day figure all the money we would owe him and we would have it the day it was ready. $6000 dollars. He said he would have it ready in two weeks. Guess what? It still aint ready and now ive went and borrowed $6000 Before I do some of the above mentioned suggestions I thought I would at least try and stay out of jail. Me going there with no income coming in from me, not really a good thing right now. Not saying I wont whoop some ### if I lose my truck because of him,but it would def be the last resort if everything else fails.

WOW. Six months. It's obvious he's not gonna fix your truck. Hire a wrecker to pick your truck up an take it somewhere else.

No there are no hidden anything. There not more to the story. He has it in his shop. He has a big shop that will hold probably twenty trucks and guess where mine is located. I went by there this last weekend to check the last scenario of getting a wrecker. Cant locked building and my truck is inside with other trucks blocking it. I don't owe him any money other than for the work he aint freaking doing right now.

Did you get a written quote stating and price and time frame of 3 days?

I don't think you can sue for lost profits? I believe you can sue for restitution (the cost of the repair or in this case engine swap) and you can sue for specific performance which is basically the court ordering the shop to complete the swap in 3 days or be held in contempt.
