Near JFK isn't as bad as some parts of the city, but I'll give you it's no picnic either.

 

I had to back into a dock off the street with traffic flying past me...I look at it this way...able to back into that place, the rest of.the country piece of cake..

 

Lol. At least there was a dock... I know you've been to those places in the Bronx with no dock and you're double parked on the street while you help pull freight off in traffic. Lol.

 

That was in.Brooklyn....I had a 53' van loaded with shoes for foot locker and had to be hand unloaded...floor loaded too front to back and top to bottom...even had an.armed guard waiting in.front of.store as I arrived..how.fun..

 

before they moved the seafood market to Hunts Point
it was pretty much underneath the Brooklyn bridge
you just parked on the cobblestone street and lumpers would come take the fish away. Some of the fish houses were a couple blocks away you never knew if the fish got there or not
or a pickup would back up to you show you a receipt from the dealer and take away 10 cases
Today scallops are $15.00/lb boat price I would imagine it is tracked a little better

No Joseph I can't lift 80 lbs over my head. In fact the only muscle I got needs a pill to work. Other than that, I am in good health. You macho man!!

 

I'm now part of the Big G family. I think I'm really gonna enjoy my time here. What blew me away was how many benefits the company has and how great the benefits are. Hope to meet you guys at a yard or on the road someday. Will post here on occasion.
