Anyone see this yet? Cat is offering the CT660 in a glider version set up for 1998 3406E to 2006 C15.
My heart almost exploded out of my chest. I tried to get International to sell me a Paystar 5600i glider a couple years ago and they said no. Now here it is!!
I prefer the International interior, but I do like some of the changes Cat made to the truck.
I called my territory sales rep to get more info, but had to leave a voice message.

This article on Overdrive talks about CT680 glider kits expected around mid July, no real details yet and not the same model you listed.
-
Apparently the CT 660 (the original model offered in North America) which is the Paystar 5600i has been available as a glider for the last year?? I have never heard that until now.
-
Yeah, first for me also. I had not heard of Navistar offering any model as a glider, let alone Cat. I scoured thru what I could find and did not see anything about a Cat glider, just newer off road sector models. Just articles saying Cat is offering pre-emission remanned motors for folks to put into glider trucks.
Ok, did some further digging. Thompson Truck Center is offering the CT660 as a glider. No sleeper option available. So it would be an option for the day tripper. -
Yeah there are some articles that the ct680 will available as gliders starting july. 6nz under ct680, sounds good for me for construction or farm truck.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -

Anyway more info from my dealer. Aside from now needing an ownership from a donor truck, you also need the engine, trans and rear axles.
So sounds like they don't offer all the driveline components like Western Star/FL.
But he said everything else is complete, so you don't need all the small hardware like Peterbilt. -
I looked into the CT-660 glider as we have a CT-660 now as a dump and love the truck just cant stand the Maxforce motor. The Cat glider is stupid money. Milton cat will not even order one for you because they are so much money. When you get a Western star, ect glider they come with a big box of parts, cooling package ect. With the Cat they dont have have any of that yet. They are "working on it" but yet to have it so Cat said a glider from them will be around 20K more than other glider kits.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
I've done both star and kW gliders and drove a 660 glider with a 2ws in it about a month ago. It was nice seemed like a European truck though! And about $5k more to build than star and kW
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
5K much better than the 20K they told me! They did say they can do the cat auto transmission in the glider so for a dump that is nice.

I could be wrong I heard the 680 has to be heavily modified to get a pre emission motor to fit
