Doing a couple of Toyota Land Cruiser restorations ('73 and a '74) and I have a '76 Ford Bronco that I want to put same era CBs in.

I drive and don't have the time to go to estate sales, etc

Any ideas where I might find a source for such vintage radio

    Thanks in advance.

Ebay would be your best bet, all kinds of vintage radios on there.
I've found them at flea markets and yard sales also, but they are few and far between.

    What are you thinking?

Johnson or early midland or if you can find one a Motorola 23 channel which was a cool looking 70's radio.

I had a 23 channel Dynascan Cobra 29 years ago. I need to get my hands on another.

The abuse I put that thing through...cringe-worthy... loooooong before I knew diddly squat about antenna theory, SWR, etc...and it just kept on going. Still sick about it getting lost in a move.

A modern radio would likely have gone up in smoke subjected to the abuse I then unknowingly put that poor thing through.

Yeah, there are quite a few on eBay.

Thanks for that suggestion. I had a brain cramp and didn't even think of eBay.

Your area, considering proximity to Memphis could have options available through craigslist as well(there are truckers and someone might have what you are looking for in good condition for a decent price). Or try www.searchtempest.com, which allow you to search craigslist wider.

I am not sure whether it was something you may have interest in, about month ago I saw ad for I think 23 channel brand new, in the box radio and what it's called, automatic antenna(which goes up by motor). I do not need it, but wanted it and was considering to buy.

Don't expect to get much life out of a 40 year old radio without replacing all the capacitors in it.
