1989 peterbilt 379 no start

Follow the line off the primer backwards,that should go to the other filter. Normally mounted inside frame rail. You might be able to take it loose and drop it in fresh fuel and see if it will fire.

 

Anyway to post pics? I'm confused that must be a different primer than I'm thinking
Should have one line going to top of pump,one to the bottom side,from that back to other filter,back to tank.

 

Someone's taken the one circled out of line,if no fuel lines go to it. So you only have one filter. If it was mine,that would get fixed soon. Easiest thing would be take the fuel line going to motor and put in a bucket of clean fuel. See if you can get it fired up. If so your problem is from that point back.

 

That's good oil pressure for that motor.

 

How are you priming it if the primer has been disabled. Is there a primer pump on the filter base you are using?

 

If your truck is now spinning over slower than it did when it was starting right up,Try to unhook all batt term. 1st thing an clean them with wire or sand paper, maybe its not getting 12v. from all batt. when you are trying to spin it over?

 

Just filling the filter is not priming it. White smoke says it's getting fuel but not enough to start, you've got air in the lines. I'd charge the batteries up good for a day and then give it another try, spray just enough either to keep it running and eventually it will start pulling fuel on its own.
