call Pittsburg power,,also there are several companies the rebuild turbo chargers,,never buy from a dealer unless you have no other choice,,dealers including CAT have very high prices, they give huge discounts to big fleets but screw the one truck owners ,,search the net for rebuilders

Before you buy a turbo make sure it's not one of the bellows that is cracked.

My turbo gave up about a year and a half ago rolling through Fontana. Limped it into a small shop on Valley Blvd. just East of Cherry. Guy could get one from Cummins $1800 with exchange or an off brand unit for $800 no exchange. Went with the off brand unit and have had no problems since.
My turbo failure was a result of too much back pressure, muffler was clogged. Also replaced muffler when I got back to Phx.

If your getting the whistling/high pitch squeal may want to check the exhaust manifold sleeves as well. I had one come apart and take a chunk out of the fins on the turbos.

The mechanic in Fontana called someone in LA and they delivered it the next morning.

I don’t know who they purchased it from.

They did give me a choice between a Borg & warner for almost $2000 or the Chinese version for $800 with no core.
