Your Class A med card is not like a pilot medical. There is no central database to which your physical is reported. You can even be retested if you get off the meds. Don't take this crap. Fight!
freightmaster Thanks this. -
I have to agree. Get retested and while we're talking prostate...Get your PSA level checked at 50 or sooner if your father/brother/uncles had prostate cancer like my dad did. He caught it early and went through a year of radiation.
I had my PSA checked last year and the doctor's staff questioned my request saying I was too young. I told the doc about my dad and got it approved.
Get it done.

Would you like to make a bet? I had a DOT lapse, and lost a school bus endorsement as a result. Also, I spoke with a DOT medical examiner, and found out that the DOT supervises the FAA. If you are not qualified to fly an aircraft where only your own life is at risk, then you are certainly NOT qualified to drive an eighteen wheeler that can easily kill LOTS of people in an accident. If you have ever had a seizure and lie on your medical form, you could be charged with a felony and then being without a job would be the least of your worries.
Lying on the DOT physical: JUST DON'T DO IT!

A couple of facts about myself. Before I began CDL school I made sure health problems would not stop me. My blood pressure was high, it is now good with meds. My blood sugar was high & then became perfect. However after getting my license it
rose. For the last 2 months it is erratic. Today I saw my specialist, my lab results for sugar are high. He is trying some other drugs along with my present use. He says I might have to begin Insulin. I am not yet working. I feel discouraged. It seems useless to job search if my blood sugar will fail me. Everything else is fine. Any type 2 diabetics out there want to comment. Right now I need work will most likely attempt other work. Trouble is I am in my 6th decade & options & economy are changed. -
I feel your pain, Slider. For me at this point, it's either the sheltered work environment or it's the garbage cans looking for things of value to sell. And it'll be that way until I can get a specialist to write a clearance letter to send to the examiner. It's a tough row to hoe, but I can't really complain. I'm just lucky to have a job at all, and the company could let me go tomorrow if they lose a contract. Then I would have nothing.

Try cinnamon tablets. Not the capsules, but the tablets. It works wonders for controlling your blood sugar.
