Hey guys just curious?
What trucks do you guys like to drive?
At my yard we have Volvo VNM200s and International Transstars. I drive an International and while it's nothing special I like it, it pulls alright turns okay and generally works okay, it's not to comfy either which I like.
The volvo's are very nice, but they are like driving a Cadillac and I don't know I don't like being to comfortable driving a big truck, I mean the Internationals are not awful by any means, but you want to be comfy but not to comfy.
Anyhow both trucks though have big mirrors and all that jazz.
Actually one of the best trucks I drove was at the beer company I got to drive a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia it was a rental with the DD12 automatic transmission that was a legit truck.
Anyhow what kind of LTL and regional haulers do you guys like to drive?
Which trucks do you guys like?

I'm happy with my Mack Vision. It gets the job done.
I hate the exhaust note though.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I hate the freightliners. Shorter and easier to turn esp in a sleeper cab, but serious POS's. No power, no jakes, everything rattles, and zero room inside. Stupid ergonomics. welcome to the 1970's. Hi, we're freightliner and we hate drivers.
I like the volvo's, lot more room, fantastic engine brakes. way way way better ergonomics, easy to check stuff, easy to unhook. Much better designed truck (welcome to the 2000's at least).
The only thing that makes a freightliner look good is a international.
That's all we run.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I don't what somebody was thinking with the hood latches on those Cascadias.

Mack is the best in my opinion.

I'm very happy with the volvo trucks we have. We also have internationals, which have tighter turn radiuses (radii??), but the volvo beats them in every other category.

LTL: No preference with tractors,Which ever one is legal

NON LTL: Any Tractor /Straight Truck besides a Peterbilt with dual stacks. Can't see past them and the turning radius seems to suck my balls, Also the bicycle tires up front being nose heavy in the wet makes corners tricky.
Not really a picky person. Honestly not a big truck person to give a crap, lucky if i could tell you the make, forget about the model / year.

My company is only buying cascadia's currently and they are pretty dang nice compared to the leftovers of their international buying phase. We have some 9400i's running C15 Acerts left and they are awful, I have the displeasure of driving one. The interior is junk and you would think it had spring susp.
There are actually more 9400i's left than Prostars because the prostars proved to be too much of a nightmare. They're all the same crap, different pile.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
a mack is just a volvo in disguise
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
My co. is all Freightliners and Volvos. The Volvos are more comfortable and I like the big mirrors. The single piece windshield is nice too. My only complaint is that they're heavier on the front end than the Cascadias. Doesn't make much differencethough unless I'm pushing gross.
I hate the Cascadia mirrors. Too small, and if I dare use the washer fluid while the truck is moving, the overspray end up all over the mirrors.
We do have a couple of Peterbilts they're evaluating, but those are assigned so I haven't been in them. Sharp looking trucks even as single screws but the drivers hate them, so I doubt we'll see any more.Shaggy Thanks this.
