Yes, it closes on "Max", but if I turn off the fan, the air door will reopen even if I leave on "Max" and let's the outside air come in. I noticed about the air door opening because I would have someone turn on the blower on "Max" while I have the hood open and look at the door flapper closing. But when he turns the blower off, the door opens.

That door is only for A/C MAX operation, so when you have the fan off, the a/c is also off. The door will reopen. Sorry, that is just how they designed it. There is no fresh air/recycle button on those.

Wondering if someone could help...have an 09 Prostar had a/c compressor, condensor drier and expansion valves changed also did a complete system flush because my compressor locked up and was told maybe metal fragments in the system. Long story short after all that my a/c will ony cool down to 70 degrees!! Anyone have any idea why? My compressor starts and stops alot and my fan is constantly running!!

Here is a series on fixing your AC -

HeavyD;
Where do you work and do you have time to check out ac on my prostar?
I already spend 5k and still the same, everything works just fine for 20 minutes and than warm air...
Last repair was most successful, I was good for 7 days and than back to old symptoms. This really sucks man...
I have been in few different shops (all parts replaced) they tried everything you wrote in your posts and nothingLast edited: Jun 17, 2015

What are the thermistor and pressure sensor readings on DLB when it fails?
-
That is the problem here, no dlb around and I don't trust dealer because they never heard about system flush when I asked... Just don't wonna throw any more money around this kind of places. Btw Chicago Rush truck center is 1-2 weeks behind.

I have replaced compressor, dryer, thermistors w/ wires. Everything worked nice for 2 weeks but when i idle it wasn't that cold (fan was working, compressor too) and than it stopped. After that we flushed the system with 2 gal of ac flush fluid and replaced all from above together with both exp. valves ( I have seen pieces of metal shavings in the fluid, we were washing till they stopped coming out) and everything worked like new even when idle ice cold, for seven days... After that same thing, when I start the truck it's working for 20 minutes and than compressor kicks off. After i restart the truck same story for 20 minutes. Forgot to mention ac condenser was replaced by dealer at the first place maybe a 6 weeks ago after which ac worked for 2 weeks and then I started to trust independent shops, and here I am...
