    HI All

I know this is a strange post but need some help. I got an infected tooth. These dentists here in Stlouis costs too much. I was wondering if anyone here at truckers report has gone to Mexico for Dental work? Preferably the Texas border. Im looking for a referral.

    Appreciate the help.

I used to cross the border from Laredo, Texas and once I got across, there were people everywhere passing out flyers to Dentist offices. I had two cavities filled a while back in Mexico City with no problems. I don't see any reason why you would have any issues on the border.

The Dentist offices I saw when I was in New Laredo, Mexico looked fine and they spoke English.

Not going into Mexico but re-entering the states...yes. If you decide to go, make sure you park stateside and WALK into Mexico. If you drive over, it will takes a lot of time coming back into the states.

Actually, Americans go south of the border quite a bit for meds and dental and even plastic surgery. But I have a question not really related to the subject at hand. When a "gringo" goes into Mex to buy property, why is it they pay $200, $300,000 even more? The grunts down there certainly don't have that kind of $$$$$, right ?

If you've got an infected tooth the number one priority should be getting it taken care of sooner the better. I wouldn't be thinking about Mexico unless I lived real close.
This would be a topic for Victor V. If you search the old post you may find it but that threads locked now and I don't think he's coming back. He had dental work done down there and posted about it . The thread was in the Road Stories section.
Dental problems suck hopefully you get it taken care of soon..

Been going to Algodones for over 10 years, you will need a passport
The town is on the border with Calif about 10 miles or so west of Yuma,, 350 dentist in the town and the prices are 60% or more less than US Dentist and the quality is just as good or better, If you need multiple appointments some will do 2 a day and all will give appointments on consecutive days, I had a root canal done for $250 ,they have truck parking at the border,
The border is about a miles south of I-10.

You do not need a passport to return from Mexico. And I've never had any problems with the dentists in Nuevo Laredo.
