I just learned how to stream audio books to my bluetooth headset this week.

I can stream music from an (old) Ipod Touch that I have, to the truck radio.

The cable for the Ipod Touch also fits my android phone.

So I thought I would stream the audio books from the phone to the truck radio for better volume, and also free up the Bluetooth for just phone calls.

So I connect the cable to Android phone to the truck radio, but I could never get the audio books to come out of the truck speakers like I can music.

The truck radio is set on AUX. Am I doing something wrong, or will it not work anyway?

Make sure the volume is up on the phone and the player it is using. Do the audio books use a different player or app? There might be a volume control within that app or player.

General info, many public libraries now offer free digital audio book downloads. My library uses an app called Overdrive, but each library may be different. Selection not as great as Audible, but it's working for me. You have to go to your local library or library website to find out about it.

Hi Gulf. I am using the app, LibriVox. I don't think it has a volume control.

You at least told me it should be working, so I will figure it out.

Listening to free, classic audio books while driving is a new experience for me. It is a very relaxing.

I will get it figured it out next trip. Thanks for the reply.

I bought a blue tooth adapter they sell in the truck stop that fits in the audio in headset jack in the front of the stereo. Downside is the devices has about a four hour battery life. I bought two and keep switching. My headset and this device are connected. Phone calls go to headset while audio books go to stereo no problems.

    Getsinyourblood Thanks this.

That should work, as long as the cable your using isn't a Apple branded product (they like to change things just enough) it should work fine. Does other audio pass through the phone to the truck radio?

My 2014 T680 has a bluetooth setting...my phone Sprint G5 asks if you want the bluetooth device for phone only or media...I set the media for the truck and phone only for my headset works great

The cable is just a generic type cable that fits an IPod Touch to the Truck Radio. I was thinking today I need to reload the book on the phone and then try it in the truck radio.

I don't have any music on my phone, but I could try that. Thanks for the reply.

I will check my Android Smart Phone and see if there is a phone/media option. Good idea. Thank you.
