I think I'd go to Roehl if I were going to a company, but I'd definitely check 'em out thoroughly first. There have been some postings here of late that make me wonder about 'em. I'd definitely find out what proportion of their trainers have less than three years' experience. That says a lot about a supposed 'training' company. Just how well are you going to be trained? That's a fair question to ask. I know one of the biggest outfits, an outfit that is well-known as a 'training' company, relies on trainers with as few as 6 months' experience. This training company can't even train properly. Does Roehl use greenies as trainers? I've heard they do.

Yes they do. 6 months is all that is required. I hear their trainer foundations training is pretty decent though, but I can't speak from experience. Despite this, I think our safety rating speaks for itself so they must be doing something right.

roehl is just like every other company. if i was a newbie i think i would go with them since ther pay for trainee's is higher than most. if you are out of the ellenwood terminal there will not be any dedicated or local work for you. unless you live in the mid west forget about it. if you plan on running otr you should be happy for a while but keep in mind they are a trucking company so ther will be the good side and the bad. do your homework newbie's

Just out of curiosity, what can a trainer with 5 years experience teach a student that a trainer with 6 months can't? The trainers aren't trying to teach them how to handle every single turn and where the dock at every customer is. They just try to point out what the student needs improvement on and help them with it.
