Hey fellas, I've kept up with this thread for a while (basically since I hired on at Eagle) in an attempt to see what people thought about Eagle. I'd never heard of the Company, or worked in trucking, until I started.

I was ok with just reading and following along for a while until I got more familiar in the role, but on the last few pages, I've seen some questions or statements that I thought i could help with.

    Two things:
    1) I'm not going to give out my name or terminal just yet, mostly because not everything I'll say about Eagle will be positive and I don't want it to affect my job (obviously). The good news is that means I'll be telling you the truth, good, bad, or indifferent (also, sometimes, "I don't know").

    2) I'm not going to recruit you. I won't give out my contact info and I'm not here to shill for the company or anything. Like I said, not everything I have to say about Eagle is positive (although a lot is).

I'm just here to answer questions because one of the worst things I've heard from drivers are errors or misconceptions that get spread to other drivers. Also, it sort of bothers me that a lot of your DM's or contact people aren't helping you the way I'd like to think they should. That's not really cool. For example, that list posted above is NOT the full broker list. I'll post the full on here in a second.

If you have any other questions, fire away.

Like this for example, 100% untrue. TQL is booking loads with us, just like always.

Now I will say this, some TQL brokers have had some issues in the past (one infamously double booked some loads with one of our drivers. I'm not sure I've ever heard a DM cuss so much as this guy did when he found out), but that's not a fair representation of TQL as a whole. Every bunch will have a few bad apples.

Completely depends on the driver and the DM. If the driver has a good history, consistently makes a check and hasn't had any issues, any sort of reasonable amount is possible with approval.

Oh nonono, if you get to a stop and the shipper delays you, get in touch with your DM and start getting layover pay. Don't work for free boss.

We retain every rate con we receive. If a DM is deleting them he's doing it very, VERY wrong.

I have a question ... What's the point of the DMs, other than putting the rate cons in the system. Carrier I'm with all communication on a load is with the broker. No middle man involved.

Can do, have to pull it off the work database. Give me 5

Good question. No idea really haha. The way I understand it a good DM wears a lot of hats. There's the obvious working with brokers and scheduling/routing, then the less obvious "making sure you get paid", as well as occasionally being the contact point for all sorts of maintenance/personnel issues. Plus occasionally, they're asked to be counselors. Truck driving is a crazy hard job (I honestly have zero idea how anyone does it, I don't have the mindset for it to be sure), and sometimes drivers need someone one their team.

Sadly, my computer is giving me issues so I can't grab the latest additions (this week), but we get more of these approvals each week. When I started, that list was about half that size, but getting approval does take around 2 weeks or more depending on how stubborn legal departments get.

Couldn't tell you. I realize that's not an answer, but I'm not sure why that choice was made or by whom.

Tomorrow's my first day at Eagle orientation. First thing I heard, worth listening to, is that some folks are waiting almost a week for their trucks.

    EagleOps...thanks for posting some anti-disinformation.
