Yeah man you won't have to deal with that OnGuard BS, your cruise will probably max at 61-62 instead of 59-60. Probably got a S60 Detroit unless they are stuffing DD15s in the gliders (seen a few Centuries with those, WTF?) which is a good engine and will handle the extra idling that you tanker guys do when running the PTO better than the DD15s with all the emissions stuff. Good luck on the first trip!

Well I had my first assignment today, it was a local run, everything went good. I did not have anything preassigned when I left the yard an hour and a half ago. I guess I'll call extended to see if they have anything.
dieselfuelonly Thanks this. -
One thing about bulk support shift compared to van support shift bulk seemed to be somewhat more competent. Then again I doubt they'll send you anything til the morning at the earliest

Congrats on getting the first load down... feels good doesn't it.

Yeah, it feels good. There was nothing today so I did a lot of sitting around at the OC, my DBL called me and told me that I will be doing the same run tomorrow that I did yesterday. I am ready to actually get on the road though and make some money. But I will say it is nice sleeping at home in my bed still

Pumps aren't a big deal at all. Just make sure you walk your hoses and don't forget to wash the pump out when you wash your trailer

But it sucks that youre sitting already And you just started
My company slowed way down when the oilfields slowed down

I did my first OTR run this week, (if you can really consider it OTR, I never left Texas). I had to take an empty from Houston Sunday afternoon to get loaded in Garland on Monday and than to Mineral Wells, just west of Ft Worth. My appointment to unload was Tuesday morning at 0700, I got to the customer at 1600 on Monday but they couldn't take me early because they close at 1700 so I had to go find a truck stop 20 miles away and bed down. Hauling 45000 lbs through those small hills really sucked I can just imagine what it is like going through the Rockies or Appalachians.
The unload took me almost 4 hours, I had a rear unload trailer that was sitting pretty much level, after I checked the heel I still had about 30 gallons left, thats when the customer said "we normally have you guys back your drive wheels up on these ramps, I don't know why the other guy didn't have you do it when you got here." I got put on the ramps and finished the unload. When I got there I noticed I lost a mudflap on my way there so when I left I had to go to a Loves on I20 to get one installed. I had 10 minutes left on my DOT clock after dropping the trailer at the tank wash and pulling into the yard at the OC.
On my way back as I was getting to i45 South at Corsicana I hit a bad thunderstorm, at 2 in the afternoon it turned pitch black and I could barely make out the taillights in front of me through the rain. About 2 miles later I was getting out of the storm and my phone went off with a tornado warning in my area, I turned on the weather band and it was saying to seek shelter. I said F*** that, I'm getting the heck out of here now. -
I have an interview with Schneider for OTR position how many miles will I make ?? What is the pay per year??? And if I live 60 miles from a terminal could I possibly transfer to a intermodal or regional position
