Alll very good points so I see basically u take a gamble and hope it pays off. Knowing the truck is going to breakdown weather new or old it's how u keep up your investment determines if it going to be a hunk of junk .

I went the older route. I'd only buy a new glider. Emissions are a gamble I don't have to deal with. No Cali for me.

always better to buy new with a 500,000 warranty unless you are a master diesel mechanic,,remember down time for repairs cost you lost work and revenue,,when you buy used you never know what you are getting,,engine overhauls cost $20K up,,trans over haul with a new clutch can cost over $10K,,buying new you can spec the truck for max economy too,,the difference between 5mpg and 6.5mpg can make half a new truck pmt
