But then again years ago on U.S.49 south of U.S. 84 in Miss. there was the best rest area I've ever been to. I was driving way way over hours and there was no shoulder to pull over on and out of nowhere this rest area pops up. I went inside to wake up and there was an attendant there with fresh coffee. I talked to him for an hour or so and the place saved my butt.

I would not stop at T/A if it was the only tuck stop left in the world, they r the nastyest places i've ever been in.
-
T/A downtown Nashville, Tn rathole from hell
-
I think everybody by now knows about the TA in Nashville. It certainly has a reputation. And I've only been there twice.

Oh, I hate the T/A in Nashville! Lordy, I hate that place!
Some filthy minded piece of trash thought I was a lot lizzard! And offered me a job "entertaining the boys"! I did entertain the boys that night! I gave them something to talk about for a good long time... I chased that piece of trash down the frontage road... into a field... with a crank over bar in my hand! I've never seen anyone run so fast! He cleared that barbed wire fence with plenty of room to spare...
When I got back to the truckstop... there were 8-10 drivers standing around my hubby's truck.. laughing their butts off... one of them had the sandal I had lost halfway across the lot..
Nope, I will never again set foot in that filth hole!Big Duker Thanks this. -

Never heard that one before! -
No, it's actually 9 miles south of Tupelo. Just checked it on my TS guide.
Thanks for the warning. I'll try to avoid that place like anthrax in an envelope from a mad scientist.
Overall, is it me, or are most TS's in Mississippi foul and nasty all over? -
They are all horrible, or at least I haven't found one yet that would pass any sane persons health inspection.

I just breezed thru Mississippi a few days ago on my way to Laredo and a couple of fellow truckers were east bound and discussing where to get good fried catfish and one of them said "Nonies" and I almost spit my coffee all over the dash, I couldnt recover in time to warn the guy not to go in there. No way anything that comes out of that place could be described as food much less good food.
