training is still in GA. orientation paper work says 40 cents a mile for local. i also heard the truck are gov at 56mph lol

That sounds like a bad situation. You need 2000 miles to make 800 before taxes. If you work 5 days you need 400 per day. That's not possible if you go home everyday. just something to think about. I'm sure the recruiter sold you a dream of 800 to 1000 per week probably lol
I know with CT, the local guys get paid per load based on distance. that's better I think if you are local -

yeah I just talked to the recruiter it's 40 cents per mile and its short haul so you are out a couple nights a week he said generally you get Miami runs a lot
