Orientation in the morning. They are starting me at .39 cpm for thirty days and then I am leasing a truck.VaGump Thanks this.

Hay would like to know how orientation went. How your lease is working out.

I haven't done it yet, my thirty days is just now up and going home this week sometime. I think ima have to put this truck in the shop and have the wife drive down and get me. Sooo I will likely talk to whoever runs that program then and see what I can find out.
I have heard conflicting reports from drivers and likely cause there is two programs. One is the advertised millage program but I have also learned they have a percentage program that pays 74 percent of the load and 75 percent of the fsc so ima have to do some more asking around and digging.
Also they no longer let you lease from the Heartland lot, you now pick from trucks in the yard. Almost all of them are used company trucks but they get pretty well taken care of and should have around 300 to 400k miles on them. Also another option I am thinking of trying is to go company, wear out the old used truck they give you till you get one of the new 586's and then drive it and treat it like you own it and when it reaches 300k miles you can lease to own it and keep driving it. After two and a half to three years you will know if it's a truck you want to make your own or not. My truck just hit 300 so I am hoping for a trade in when I take it to the shop..
As far as the company goes, everyone here is a truck driver and at least two of the dispatchers still drive part time so they know what you go through out here and work with you to make things happen. I can't say I am making 3000 miles a week because allot of runs are 2000 + and I can't seem to get two of them in a week but we are working on it. I did get 4700 my first full week out but I carried a 1000 mile run over from my orientation week.
Also you do some favors like babysitting loads on your 34, or repowering loads where drivers are out of hours or take loads with tons of drops on them and you at least get good brownie points and sometimes extra cash and always good runs. They are learning I am one to shoot for six hundred miles a day plus, burn my 70 and then do a restart and do it all again so I get some decently long runs with fairly tight schedules. It is what you make of it but if you keep them doors closed, do your best and run like hell, they have the work for you to do. -
so how it gose after 1 month how are you doing did you take percentage what is pay like how many miles etc etc. thanks for the info

Been here a bit over four months i think and i have come to doubt i could find anyone better to drive for. Everyone in the office almost either is or was a driver and they will bend over backwards to help you if you need it and you show them you want to work. The company pay is .39cpm and i finally went lease this week. I found out the percentage program is only if you get your own authority. I will let you know how my first week ended up when i get my first settlement next week.

I would find out why they feel they need 25% of YOUR fuel money.rholl32 Thanks this.

I know why and not concerned about it.

These guys send me emails all the time. Was considering them at one point. They fly you out to orientation so that's cool. Any company that does that cares for the drivers in my opinion. Never heard any horror stories about them though.
