Well, that was quick. My husband got the call for his 2nd interview today, so he'll be going to Sealy next week.
This question is for the guys that work at Sealy, can you tell me what hotel would you recommend for him to stay at and where??
Is it a good idea for us to travel with him, due to the fact that he'll keep the vehicle to go to the DC and nobody knows at what time he'll be done??
We're not familiar with the area and I don't know if close to the hotel there's a place to keep my kids entertained, (like a McDonald's with a playground, etc), and I don't want them locked up in the room all day.
I know my husband wants us there to give him support, I just don't want him distracted because he's worried about us.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

    TomOfTx Thanks this.

Holiday Inn Express in Sealy is the best hotel. Drivers attending orientation in Sealy stay there. It is close to I-10 and only 3 miles from the DC. There is a Walmart Supercenter behind the hotel and several restaurants within walking distance.

The process of the road test, pre-trip, and physical/drug screen may take 6+ hours, depending on your appointment time. If given a choice of time, request the earliest available, which may be around 9am. This way you will not be waiting for another driver(s) to finish their test, which could extend the time spent at the DC.

Best wishes in taking the next step. :)

Thanks for your quick reply and the info Tom, very much appreciated!! :biggrin_25514:
    His appt is at 10am.
By the way, can you suggest what would be ok for him to wear??
He wants to look professional, I know he won't wear a suit, after all, he knows what to wear and what not to. I'm just trying to help as much as I can trying to make things easier for him.
    Thanks again!!

Business casual is appropriate. Slacks, khakis, or jeans and a Polo or button down shirt is fine. Be comfortable since you will be working around the truck. Can bring a change of clothes for the pre trip and road test if desired. No need to wear a suit. :)

Hi everyone...I'm so excited as my husband will be starting at Smyrna DE, next week. Is there anyone else on here from there? Would love to have other wives to talk too, this is a big change for us.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get a call after an application is submitted? Just wondering what the hiring process is?
    Thanks!
