I guess I can quote myself....
Well so much for my time off. Looks like I'm heading to the Beaumont/ Port Arthur area down on the Texas coast. I got me a salary position doing 90 mile turns once or twice a day...haha. Sounds like gravy work. On occasion I will do a deep Texas run which means an overnight stay but was told that was a rare event. I will be hauling CO2. So on the one hand, nothing flammable but it is pressurized. This time if I spill it won't leave a mess to clean up![]()

Interesting run I've just finished up on. Picked up a load of tile in Oklahoma, just under 900 miles with 4 deliveries. Went to do stop 2 this morning (first of the day) which was to a restaurant in Indy. After checking in I'm told that the contractor doing the remodel will handle the unload... and by handle the unload he meant sending ONE guy out to offload 94 cases of tile at 60 lbs a piece BY HAND. In 85 degree/85% weather. No pallet jack, no forklift, just a makeshift cart, brute force and stupidity. Not the greatest plan but hey this is what a cell phone camera and detention pay is for. The only problem? The guy comes out to the trailer, unloads 7 cases (breaking most if not all of them) and promptly quits his job on the spot. I'll spare y'all the rest of the details regarding multiple people yelling at me for "not calling ahead (which I did, the afternoon before delivery)" and having the load too far forward in the trailer to unload (again, this is stop #2 and we're not an LTL carrier with pallet jacks and lift gates) but what should have been a 20 minute unload turned into a 5 hour ordeal. And the kicker? Because of the clusterf*ckery at that stop I was late on the next 2 stops and the customer at final went home for the day about 20 minutes before I got there... and I had to convince my AM not to stick me with sitting on this load all weekend. I finally managed to get the trailer dropped on a drop yard and after wasting a few hours driving through flooded back roads chasing an empty I get a preplan to pickup a load on the yard. At this point all I can do is keep telling myself I'll be home next week. I #### sure need the time off at this point...

The tile load sounds fun. -
Well my back to back burning the 70 and having to take the reset came to an abrupt end today.
I dropped Friday in Omaha and no empties, get a preplan from the Lincoln terminal to Michigan for Monday morning.
Not the greatest, but put me near Kalamazoo and a sure load to Owensboro for my hometime.
BUT, a crazy thing happened on the way to Lincoln.
A rock flew off a pickups tire and hit the windshield right in front of me. And right in my field of view.
I pull into Lincoln at 7:30 and have a new windshield by 11:00.
BUT, they won't release me because they have to recalibrate the Mobileye, which is glued to the .....Nevermind.
But the mechanic that knows how to do that will be there Sunday, plus I have another recall to fix, and he'll be there Monday.....
My new asset manager said I should come up to the 3rd floor and meet her?
I told her What bar I'd be at this afternoon, she's a no show -

Our new princess may be a little bipolar, today i was trying to take a day off,due to a nonproductive preplan and ufc event tonight, then she sends me a msg "collect your things and prepare to take the load"and then ops mngr encourage me furthermore. So i had to collect myself.
tucker Thanks this. -
Plus she was coping with the disappointment of me not meeting her and me calling our mechanics #######, I'm sure that will get x'd out, but think retreads without the e.
