I do not know the exact amount of weight, but yeah. and super singles set up save even more
-
Keep your truck as light as possible, there are plenty loads where you'll be just under the legal limit
-
This is very true, a savings of oh say 1,000 pounds of vehicle weight, can mean 1,000 pounds of extra paying freight.
-
I also read somewhere like 500lb weight saving is like carrying 5000lb less. Don't know if it's true..
-
Can't say I ever read that. simple math, that if you lose (say) up to 1,000 pounds of vehicle weight, you can haul that 1,000 pounds freight

It has to do with rotational inertia. It's harder to get a wheel to spin at a circumfrance speed (tangential velocity) of 60 mph and a linear speed of 60 mph. Than to accelerate a box of the same mass to 60 mph. So, reducing wheel weight has a greater effect in increasing acceleration than removing the same weight off the body of a vechicle.
-
I found a wheel web site and it said 49-53lbs a wheel less with aluminum. So, 500 lbs is about right. How much more with super singles?

Do I need a dictionary now to follow this thread.>???

Na... just Google it... no worries
