@EagleOps my op mgr loads and what I found on my own
Phoenix AZ to Denver CO
Load 8-15.00
Del 8-15.00 by apt
42k
$1800 on 795
Phoenix to Albuquerque NM
Load 14.00
Del 9 am
30k
$700 on 420 miles
Tolleson AZ to Carlisle PA
Load 11.30
Del 6/20 at 9 am
44,700 lbs
$3400
See the offer rate for similar load to Pennsylvania?3900!also CHR own load to albq 44 miles longer and it's 2.72 a mile 1262.00
Do the operations folks not use a tool so they can see what rates are? Truckers edge with the rate plan would be ideal if they can get a volume discount for them to use....better than the garbage my op mgr gets!

So I read this entire thread and seen a lot of different answers. My question is does it all comes down to which op mgr you get to determine whether you can pick your own loads or not?
-
You can pick your own loads but they also have contrac loads also
youngscholar and fr8monkey Thank this. -
Ok thanks. Recruiter keeps calling me. I dont know if I want to go with mercer or eagle. Just trying to get as much info as possible -
Finally in my truck, in Indy. Waiting for a company driver to get here so I can relay it to SC; then, I'll grab another trailer and haul it to Louisiana. Hope the tropical storm clears before I get there.
So, on first contact, my DM seems to be proactive. Apparently, he's a new guy, as are most of the folks I've encountered over the last week at Celadon, Eagle, and Quality. No complaints, there. I was new...somewhere. Can't remember that far back. Any way, it will be interesting to see how well he does over the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to hearing his response when I ask to go home and get my gear in Montana! lol
First load will be 529 miles paying $1.86 to the truck. Second load will be 1100 miles paying $1.46 to the truck. This has all taken so long that there will be no paycheck for RoknRic this Friday. Looking forward to stockpiling for the next! -
Keep an eye on the weather for Houston, Mac. Hopefully it'll clear up before your appointment.
