Any recommendations for a car hauler looking for a change?
I'm in the southeast - Atlanta - ISO a "local - home every night" driver position.
I'd like to date Jennifer Anniston too in case you guys know her too.
Thanks in advance ... Please get me away from the cars!

You know when I was making the transition out of beer hauling and into the fabulous world of broadline food service distribution I was told check out car hauling a lot of people say it's really good and like working at Cassens or Jack Cooper. What don't you like about car hauling?

"What I don't like about car hauling" ... Best way to answer this question is to tell you why I DO like car hauling ... Three main aspects: Money, money and of course I can't forget to mention money.
I think I've reached a point in my life where I value things money cannot buy ... Like seeing my wife more often, sleeping in my bed, riding my motorcycle and spending weekends in my backyard.
I have not found anything else where I can earn at this level - and I have college and have worked another career ... The hours are long, the environment is brutal and the auto makers are unforgiving. When I was a little younger I did not mind sleeping on ramps, waiting for dispatch, 4 drop loads and being away from home for weeks at a time ... $2000 a week changes the way you look at "work" ...
Best I can describe here is the pace is nearly unbearable ... From the moment you start the truck on Sunday afternoon until Friday night - if you're lucky enough to get a load home - you are running. I go through a pair of heavy gloves in a month and a pair of Red Wing boots every three to four months - I wear the soles out. The job is both physically and mentally challenging ... I've met Marines that has said "I really don't want to work this hard" ...
Well I'm tired now, I've got things paid for and want to back down to say 70 hours per week; and sleep in my own bed at night. -
Fuel hauling is a good way to go. There is a guy in the ATL area that made some nice contributions to thread on the subject a month or two back. Look through the previous threads and you'll probably find it.
I do fuel, work about 50 hours a week, no weekends and I'm usually done by noon every day. Yes, I start way before the sun comes up. But it's well worth it and the money is pretty good too. You should be able to bring home four-figs or close to it every week if you work efficiently.Rocky the Flying Squirrel Thanks this.
