So I been studying rates in the west after spending my first 2.67 months in the east primarily the northeast....Midwest a lot to....and I'm finding some interesting things....maybe a good triangle to work....but there are a few things I need to think about.....first phoenix, southern ca and vegas....would work coz strong rates especially short freight in California or into arizona and Nevada ....strong rates from phoenix except to california....only thing is vegas is weak....not a lot of outbound freight and rates aren't great.....to some areas it is...the further u push up north...but u get so far up north....ugggghhh...lots of areas u have no where to turn really....so I like start in Cali inland empire to short freight Cali stuff....san Diego looks really good too....to Phoenix and vegas and north back to the high desert Fresno bakersfield area...some short freight intrastate arizona stuff too....lot of 2.50-3.00 rates not that we at eagle will get those rates but they exist....and denver is interesting...looks super ugly rate wide...but,hmmm...I have a feeling about denver and salt lake which looks really good too....but all the rates are good going north....then just suck coming south...hehe except.....shhhhh do your own research....

Have things turned around for you Fr8? I have read every post in this thread, seen all your settlements, and also became intrigued even more once @EagleOps joined the conversation. Even with all the hurdles being faced, I'm still considering coming over. I'm currently in a lease with another company and freight just doesn't seem to be there for them. They also have company trucks and those guys are begging for breaks. It just seems like they are trying to get all us L/O out.

Well if u have trucking especially leasing experience ambition,drive...risk taker.money to cover eventualities ,like looking your own freight and no support really yet....then think about it strongly as u look at other options...also if u have the children and needy type wife...keep looking other places....otherwise....ummmm,welcome aboard? Haha

It's hard to say how or if anything has turned around...I'm thinking to stay as im actually growing fond of eagle and the boy wonder ops manager, crazy little company....shucks
im waiting my reefer trailer too....each week is its own week....I need a break tho....which I'll get as soon as I get my truck payment covered for the week....

Been doing the lease thing for quite some time now. I have it kinda figured out, although when you get it all figured out something always changes....lol. Still trying to convince myself that once the kinks get all worked out, Eagle will be a great place to grow with. I have a former colleague that just started at Eagle this past week, so he is also giving me information. There are a few of us L/O over here that are looking kinda hard at Eagle. I'm really glad that I found this thread. You have been totally honest and upfront about everything, which I admire more than some recruiter blowing smoke just to get a seat filled. I'm still going to keep up on the thread and when I make a solid decision, I'll let ya know. I appreciate all your honesty.
I can definitely understand wanting to at least get my reefer trailer... that's what I would be coming over for myself. I know there's a long wait right now and I am a patient person. So I could make it work for myself. See.... I'm already talking myself into it...lol. Might just have to take the plunge. We'll see in the coming weeks if I still feel the same way. Thanks again for all the info you put out there for us. It does make it somewhat easier to make a decision. Who knows, I may see ya over there soon. -
