And another thing you may want to do when you return into the US, only applies to paper logs, is to flag your re-entry into the US. A buddy of mine got fined $350 by Maine DOT a few years back for not doing so. Yes, it was a cheap shot IMHO but there you go.

So if my driver had a DUI more then 20 years ago they still wont allow him to pass?x1Heavy Thanks this.
-
No DUI 10-20-30 years ago is still a DUI and Canada takes that seriously.
But your driver could ask for a pardon or a waiver this "pardon, waiver" is good for life. -
Where can we apply for that?
-
One thing for sure is Canadian customs could provide you the answer but i'll make a quick research and come back with an answer

Thank you! one more question.. the safety certificate.. do all provinces require it? I'm trying to get my bosses company set up so we can start hauling into Canada..
-
I'm not sure as up here we don't have one unified federal regulator. We have federal rules published by Transport Canada, but they are regulated / enforced by each individual province. Carriers that are plated in Canada only require one Safety Fitness Certificate (most provinces) or a Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR--Ontario) from the province or territory they are plated in that is accepted across the country. I would assume the same applies for U.S.-plated carriers, but you know what happens when we assume.

British Columbia also requires a Financial Responsibility Certificate.
Contact Ontario and British Columbia to get more information. You may also want to contact any other provinces you may be hauling into, but ON and BC should have you covered.

The only provinces we will be going to are british columbia, alberta and saskatchewan. Do you know if the other two need it?
